The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is planning to immortalize The Notorious B.I.G. with a statue in Brooklyn. The organizers of the Biggie Memorial Project are currently looking to raise $35,000 in an effort to do so. The statue will be placed in the Putnam Triangle Plaza in Clinton Hill near the rapper's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.

A six-foot tall sculpture of the Notorious B.I.G.'s face has already been sculpted by Brooklyn-based artist Tanda Francis. The sculpture was originally on exhibit at the 210 Gallery in New York but the display ended. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum now intends to bronze the statue and move it to a permanent location.

A Go Fund Me page has been launched for the Biggie Memorial Project in an effort to cover the costs. The fundraising page says the $35,000 will go towards the design, bronzing, expenses involved in getting approval from the city, mounting, compensation for the artists and a donation to the Christopher Wallace Foundation.

"This cultural arts attraction will surely be a tourist and economic draw as fans and tourists from around the world come to visit the #BIGGIEMEMORIAL," stated Chairman JT Thompson, creator of the HHHOF Awards and Museum Project.

It appears to be a perfect time for the Biggie Memorial Project to launch as the nostalgia for Bad Boy Records is currently at an all-time high. The recent reunion shows for the label were a huge success. That should only continue to grow as Diddy and more will embark on a nationwide tour in August.
