Ludacris has played shows across the country and around the globe throughout his illustrious career. Now, the ATL rhymer has his sights set on Cuba. According to the Miami Herald, the 38-year-old artist will perform for about 6,000 people at Guantanamo Bay on July 4.

The show will be free as a part of the base's annual Freedom Festival at Guantanamo's Windward Ferry Landing. According to the Herald, the festival hasn't had an act as big as Luda since Jimmy Buffett back in December 2002.

Guantanamo Bay is best known for its detention center, which contains the remaining 89 war-on-terror prisoners. The center, which President Barack Obama wants closed, is located within a restricted military zone. Military troops, Department of Defense contractors and Navy contractors also reside on the base.

Navy Chief Monique Hilley tells the newspaper, "Every year we get a special guest around the Fourth of July, but Gitmo hasn’t seen a star with as big a name as Ludacris in several years. The base is really looking forward to it."

Luda has performed in front of the troops before. In 2010, he had a concert at Fort Meade in Maryland. Six years earlier, he held a welcome-home show in Texas for soldiers returning from Iraq.

Keep it locked to XXL as more information about the Cuba concert emerges. Luda is currently on the set of Fast & Furious 8, which is filming in Cuba. According to the Miami Herald, it is the "first Hollywood studio movie to film on the island post-embargo."
