Lil Wayne has a thing for writing sports songs. He's been a sports enthusiast for the longest, even immortalizing his own love for SportsCenter on Dedication 2, and he's often let his love for athletics bleed into his music.

In 2009, he started dedicating songs to certain players and teams, starting with Kobe Bryant. Earlier that year, Kobe and the Lakers stomped Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic, and during the following season Wayne penned a tribute to Kobe called "Kobe Bryant." Later that year, the Lake Show won another ring by defeating the Boston Celtics.

Fast forward two years, and the Green Bay Packers are set to play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 Super Bowl. The Steelers already had their go-to anthem thanks to Wiz Khalifa's massive "Black & Yellow" which had only dropped a couple months before. But Wayne, an apparent Packers fan, wanted to support Aaron Rodgers and co., so he dropped "Green & Yellow" to help cheer on the Pack.

Some New Orleans Saints fans were confused, but Wayne explained his fandom. “I’ve been a Packers fan. My father, my great, late father, he went to his first Super Bowl in 1997 when the Packers was in the Super Bowl in the Superdome. When he came home that night, he just came home with a bunch of Packers everything. Packers towels, Packers cups, so, you know, and I’m from the ’hood, and so we used those cups as dishes. We used those cups. So I remember drinking out of Packers cups for years, so I’ve been a Packers fan for years."

The Packers went on to win that Super Bowl.

Now it's 2016, and last night (June 19) the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA Finals. And won't you fuckin' believe it, but just the other week Lil Wayne dropped a song called "Off Off Off" in favor of the Cavs.

So what's the deal? Does Wayne have a crystal ball? Or is Weezy just a good luck charm for certain teams? We can't call it – but Wayne apparently can.
