Kid Cudi Teams Up With Dot Da Genius for New Track “Goodbye”

Today (June 24), Kid Cudi delivers a new track called "Goodbye." The four-and-a-half minute song features production from both Cudder and go-to producer, Dot Da Genius.

The record kicks off with a sample from the legendary movie Juice starring Tupac Shakur. Then, the Cleveland native spits, "You knowin' I'm vicious/Daddy home niggas ain't doing the dishes/What is this?/For years I've been feelin' suspicious/Bout certain niggas motives and morals/And such, and like that/I done landed the ship, parallel parked in the park in the dark/Don't be concerned if I'm makin' a grip/Own half of my masters, so muthafuck you bastards/Clones all a fuckin' round/When I step on the scene don't hear a sound/What more could I do?"

The head-bobber of a beat is constructed from Pink Floyd's song, "Goodbye Cruel World." "Goodbye" is only the third song Cudi has released all year; the first two were "All In," produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and "The Frequency," produced by Plain Pat and Mike Dean.

Cudi recently revealed his plans for releasing two albums this summer. One of them will be called Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin.

In other Cudi news, the Cleveland artist recently signed an open letter (along with more than 150 other musicians and executives) to Congress in the hopes of curbing gun violence throughout then nation. The man on the moon also recently took to Twitter to discuss the existence of homophobia in hip-hop, and how he wants to help end some of the industry's outdated norms.
