Today, June 10, is the birthday of Cleveland rapper and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony member Flesh-n-Bone. He is now 45.

Stanley Howse, a.k.a Flesh-n-Bone, is the older brother of Layzie Bone and cousin of Wish Bone, so clearly musical aspirations ran in the family. When NWA'a Eazy-E discovered and signed Bone Thugs-n-Harmony to Ruthless Records in late 1993, the guys changed the perception of what a rap crew should be.

Together, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony dominated the '90s rap charts and have released eleven projects to date. Their most famous single, "Tha Crossroads," a tribute to the deceased Eazy-E won a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Aside from Bone Thugs, Flesh-n-Bone was the first of the group to drop a solo album, T.H.U.G.S. (Trues Humbly United Gatherin' Souls), in November 1996. Flesh-n-Bone also started his own record label, Flesh Bone Incorporated to obtain more creative control and manage artists he saw promise in. In 1999, Flesh-n-Bone dropped From Cleveland 2 Cali compilation album to introduce rappers signed to his label, followed by Cleveland 2 Cali: Day 2 in 2000.

Through family drama, legal strife and members leaving the group, Flesh-n-Bone has always stayed true to the crew he came up with. Bone Thugs still continue to tour, holding their fans over with their classic hits until they drop a new group cut.

Happy Birthday, Flesh-n-Bone!
