Cam'ron is starting his own weed strain. According to High Times, The Harlem MC recently spent a Saturday afternoon doing weed research and development just outside San Francisco.

The Dipset rapper completed a cannabis deal with the California brand Chroncierge, already known in the hip-hop world for its weed collaboration with Freddie Gibbs for the Freddie Kane OG strain.

Killa Cam is prepping his cannabis line to drop around the same time as the fall release of his forthcoming album, Killah Season 2: The Pink Edition. Cam'ron tells High Times his strain could be purple or pink-colored and possibly even grape soda-flavored. "I never smelled any of this till I came out here," Cam'ron says.

It's fitting that the Purple Haze rapper would decide to release his own strain of bud. Friend and collaborator Smoke DZA joined Cam'ron during his visit to the Northern California weed farm two Saturdays ago. DZA describes the visit to High Times, "I’m fuckin’ blown away, I’m not even gonna lie. I mean, I’ve seen gardens, but this is legit. And the way they break down every strain — it gave me a whole newfound respect for botany. I respect it."

Cam'ron's new cannabis line is sure to come in handy during Smoker's Club Tours for years to come. The 2016 Smoker's Club Tour is currently underway, with upcoming shows in Dallas, Texas on June 23, St. Louis, Mo. on June 25 and Lawrence, Kan. on June 26.

The sixth annual Smoker's Club Tour kicked off in Vancouver on May 31 and features other artists including The Underachievers, G-Herbo, Smoke DZA, Nyck Caution, MobSquad NARD, G-Jet and Liam Tracy.
