Late last week, we shared the new trailer for the film Kicks, a Bay Area tale of a young man looking to acquire then reacquire the glory that comes with a fresh pair of shoes, drawing attention to a curb-side sneaker reseller played by Mistah F.A.B. As UpRoxx has noted though, there are more hip-hop ties within the film's cast, as one of the protagonist's best friends is played by Christopher Jordan Wallace, otherwise known as C.J., otherwise known as Biggie's son.

In the above trailer, C.J. can be seen in a makeshift recording studio, a female detractor telling him, "You in the closet with your fat ass," a particularly meaningful line for the son of the rapper who used to be called fatso. Wallace had previously starred in 2010's Everything Must Go with Will Ferrell and the 2009 biopic Notorious, in which he played a younger version of his fallen father.

Kicks is the first feature film from director Justin Tipping and first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. It will hit theaters Sept. 9. Seeing as Mistah F.A.B. isn't listed in the film credits by his stage or real name the possibility of additional cameos seems open. 2015's Dope, which similarly followed a group of Cali teens as they navigated their city's more dangerous waters, featured appearances by A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Vince Staples and Casey Veggies.
