When Anderson .Paak gets to singing, or drumming or dancing for that matter, it is a near impossibility not to join along, and when the California-bred musician took the stage Sunday night (June 26) at the BET Awards, that brand of infectious merriment was spread throughout. Almost instantly into his performance of "Come Down," the camera cut to the audience to show Desiigner, Jidenna and more grooving along to .Paak's Malibu sounds.

“Whatup Ferg?” the singer asks before taking a turn behind the drum kit. .Paak, who was among those selected for XXL's 2016 Freshman Class, performed "Come Down" with T.I. on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon late last month, inspiring Black Thought to tweet, "“Shout out to @AndersonPaak and @Tip who just burned down the @FallonTonight stage... It ain’t often that I have to control myself from jumpin’ off my platform and bum rushing the set to join the musical guest. I want in on the remix to this joint!!”

The lead vocalist for The Roots validated what many already knew, that .Paak has one of the best live shows out today, and while the BET Awards performance was more understated, it nonetheless gave .Paak a national stage to showcase his charisma and instrument-commanding talents. Just over a week ago (June 19), .Paak said that his joint project with Knxwledge titled NxWorries is already complete. “It’s my best work, yall not ready! It’s a masterpiece!!!!!” he wrote.

The crown is .Paak's should he wish to take it, with the above performance a further testament to the power of a strong stage presence.
