Yasiin Bey had to cancel his scheduled shows in Sweden and Denmark due to his ongoing legal troubles in South Africa. Since this was the second time this happened, the former Mos Def wanted to provide a message to his disappointed fans. Bey explained the situation and apologized for the cancellation before providing an update on his status.

"All is well. I'm safe. I'm in good spirits," Bey said. "Fortunately, I'm looking to reschedule these dates later this fall."

The Black Star member also took the opportunity to thank his fans for their support. He stressed that he does not take any of it for granted.

"I wanna thank the listeners and the audience for their support throughout the years," Bey said. "For showing interest in continuing over the years to spend their time. It's greatly, greatly appreciated. I don't take it for granted. And the enthusiasm the audience shares for my work, I share in bringing that work to the audience."

Yasiin Bey is currently stuck in South Africa after being arrested at an airport in January and released on bail. Bey was charged with using a false identity, using an unrecognized travel document and helping his family stay in the country illegally.

The "Mathematics" rapper was originally supposed to return to court on March 24, but the court date got pushed back to May 12. As a result, Bey had to cancel his May 5 and 6 show dates in Scandinavia.
