When Azealia Banks starts tweeting, anybody can get it, including entire regions and musical sub-genres. After going at former One Direction singer Zayn Malik for allegedly using her work as source material for his video "Like I Would," Banks directed her attention to Disney Channel star Skai Jackson who said on Twitter that the rapper needs to settle down. Apparently fed up with the outpouring of responses she got from British Zayn fans, Banks then targeted the entire United Kingdom, rappers from there and the grime scene they represent.

“The UK really can’t rap though. UK RAP is just a disgrace to rap culture in general,” she wrote Tuesday night (May 10). "UK rappers NEVER have swag. It’s ALWAYS FORCED." Banks was dropped from UK festival Born & Bred for slurs used in reference to Zayn.

Needless to say, those who sprung up to defend Zayn likewise called Banks out for her denouncement of UK rap, with many citing her breakout single "212" as drawing from grime sounds and using a UK fanbase to gain wider popularity. "Azealia is vehemently cussing out the UK but forgetting how and WHERE 212 popped off and made her relevant to mainstream," one user wrote. "How is Azalea coming for UK rappers like her aesthetic isn’t mimicking that sound? I thought she was British the first time I head 212," another added. Others simply declared Banks no longer welcome to enter the UK.
