A man at a Sacramento hip-hop festival died on Sunday (May 15) after being sucker punched, local NBC affiliate KCRA 3 is reporting. Radio Station KSFM was holding their 102.5 LIVE event at the city's Discovery Park featuring performances by Ty Dolla $ign, E-40, Kehlani, the Internet, Desiigner and more.

"The people who were fighting were just going at it beating each other, like nonstop," said Miguel Rava, who witnessed the incident. Witnesses told KCRA that the 31-year-old victim hit the ground after being punched and immediately turned gray and blue. He was pronounced dead at a hospital just before 9 p.m.

While the radio station did not provide comment on the incident on Monday, Steve Cottingim, senior vice president for the station's parent company, CBS Radio, issued a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened by the senseless tragedy that took place in line at a food stand yesterday. We want to extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time."

Police are still searching for the suspect responsible for the man's death. Approximately 17,000 people attended the festival, and earlier in the day, a small stampede broke out after a deep fryer ignited propane tanks in the festival's food vendor area, causing an explosion. Several attendees sustained burn injuries while others were injured escaping the scene from what many thought was a gun shot.
