Before Kanye West was looping up Chaka Khan or helping produce for D. Dot, he was locked in his room making five beats a day for three summers. Now we've got a glimpse of what he was making back then.

A SoundCloud user uploaded what they claim to be a Kanye West demo tape from 1997 with eight unreleased beats from the Chitown kid, and they sound pretty damn legit. A couple of them even later became legit songs, like Beat 2 (Grav's "City to City") and Beat 4 (Infamous Syndicate's "What You Do To Me"). You can hear the whole eight-track affair up top.

Back in December of 2014, an eBay user actually put this demo tape randomly up for auction. It grabbed a measly $52 after nine bids. Unappreciative brats.

This is a true gem from right around the time Kanye first started getting legitimate beat placements with local rappers. It's the perfect thing to play late at night, or on the wake up, or any damn time. Just be glad the world can finally hear these beats.
