Super producer The Alchemist has been changing the game for decades. He's known for working on projects with almost every heavy hitter in the game. His most recent collaborations have been with Action Bronson and Dutch rhymer Kempi but now he's taking it back to his origins with a new partner in crime, Havoc of Mobb Deep.

The beatsmith and rhymer are teaming up for the first time ever as a duo on the joint effort The Silent Partner. Havoc spoke exclusively with XXL about his trust and chemistry with Alchemist. “I just left it to Alchemist,” the rapper shares. “I just wanted to take a backseat real quick and just focus on lyrics. I didn’t wanna care about beats or how it sounded. I just trusted him and I just spit on the tracks.”

Alchemist and Havoc aren't first-time collaborators. Their relationship stems back over a decade as they worked together on past Mobb Deep albums such as Infamy on songs like “Get at Me. Alchemist also produced “Win or Lose” and “Got It Twisted" featured on Mobb Deep's Amerikaz Nightmare.

The 11-track effort features previously released tracks “Maintain (F*ck How You Feel)” and the Method Man-assisted “Buck 50’s & Bullet Wounds” plus appearances by Prodigy ("The Gun Holds a Drum") and Cormega ("Hear Me Now"). The Silent Partner is currently available for pre-order on iTunes now.
