Flatbush Zombies have been putting in that independent grind for years and it's finally starting to pay off with some mainstream exposure. The trio made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (May 20) and performed their single "Bounce" backed by The Roots.

The FBZ dropped the wild visual for "Bounce" back in February. "Fun fact, the video was inspired by Grand Theft Auto. There’s only a handful of people that actually noticed that," Juice recently told XXL about the video which features the rappers playing a strange cast of characters.

"We love the people at Rockstar Games so we wanted to pay tribute and pay homage," added Meechy Darko about the bloody visual. "We did it dirty like Grand Theft Auto. I got my porn star mustache on, Juice is a homeless man and Erick is a dirty cop. It was fun. It was like Black exploitation almost, just not as exploited."

The group's debut album 3001: A Laced Odyssey debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 when it dropped back in March, after pushing 28,000 units in its first week on shelves purely independently. "Bounce" marked a Top 40 hit for the New Yorkers as it peaked at No. 32 on the Billboard + Twitter Top Tracks chart in February.

They will continue to capitalize off their newfound successes. The Brooklyn brain eaters will be performing at this year's Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, Wash. Others on the bill for the September showcase include, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Fetty Wap, Run The Jewels, Tyler, The Creator, G-Eazy, Anderson .Paak and more.
