Prior to the shooting that took place at his Irving Plaza show Wednesday night (May 25), T.I. joined Anderson .Paak on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon stage as the two performed the intro to “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance” followed by “Come Down."

.Paak begins the performance at the drum kit and returns there once T.I. comes out to reciter his verse. The energy from the performance was so electric, that Roots frontman Black Thought took to Twitter to share his excitement upon watching. "Shout out to @AndersonPaak and @Tip who just burned down the @FallonTonight stage," he wrote. "It ain't often that I have to control myself from jumpin' off my platform and bum rushing the set to join the musical guest. I want in on the remix to this joint!!"

XXL recently included .Paak on our list of 25 can't miss live performances, and the Tonight Show display only furthers that notion. Unfortunately, the performance was marred by the events that unfolded later in the evening, with .Paak tweeting, and since deleting, "My dude TIP the free nats and I bodied Fallon but some asshole fucked up the whole night at Irving plaza."

Their Tonight Show spot then gives a glimpse of what might have been. Earlier in the month, .Paak had announced a world tour that included 13 North American dates, with things kicking off on June 11 in Louisville, Kentucky. Watch his performance with T.I. above, with Black Thought's tweets included just below. "Come Down" is available to download now via iTunes.
