Wale's The Album About Nothing celebrated its one year anniversary on March 31, and while the new year is already almost four months, 2016 is primed to be a big year for D.C. rapper who is expected to drop his fifth studio album as well as factor heavily into the upcoming MMG compilation Self Made 4. And based on recent Instagram posts from DJ Akademiks, Wale is amped up over what he's been brewing, dancing in the studio to one of his new tunes.

"#wale previewing some new music," Akademiks wrote. "Sounding [fire] or [shit]? It may appear on his new album #shine or #selfmade4." Word of SHINE has been growing steadily for a few months now, with Wale previewing a new track titled "PYT" at SXSW this past March. A release date and other details on the project remain unknown, but the Instagram videos hint at a turnt up sound potentially orchestrated my Metro Boomin. The in-demand producer's trademark synth drop can be heard in the above video.

In a recent interview with Tech Cruch, Wale said that he has been developing his own video game, saying, "I am just [so] dedicated to arranging, writing, recording, writing for other people and producing that my brain be so burnt out so I need something to play in the Uber.”

As for April, Wale attended WWE's WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, and dropped the video for "The God Smile" off The Album About Nothing. Check his new sounds in the Instagram videos included above and below.
