Wale heads to his native land of Nigeria for his latest music video. The new visual for "The God Smile" that dropped today (April 1) finds the D.C. rapper getting in touch with his roots, dancing with colorfully dressed performers and mobbing in the streets with natives for the cameras. Though there's no clear story line for the video, Wale does his best to immerse the viewer in the culture of his country. Born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, Wale is the son of immigrant Nigerian parents.

"The God Smile" is a cut off Wale's 2015 No.1-selling LP The Album About Nothing. After "The Matrimony" and "The Girls on Drugs," "The God Smile" serves as the record's third single. And judging from the happiness Wale exudes in his new video, this one was obviously a passion project.

Besides rapping, Wale is looking to diversify his brand in 2016. The Grammy-nominated rhymer is venturing more into the tech world with his own video game in the works and interactive fashion look books. Speaking on his new ventures in tech earlier this month, Wale said, “It’s the evolution of the music business...you don’t really make money from physical albums like that, I am more concerned with the tour.”

Not to mention, he's hard at work on a new album for 2016 called SHINE. Wale premiered a new track called "PYT" off the forthcoming project while down in Austin, Texas for SXSW.
