Vic Mensa's Traffic album has been a long time coming, but it looks like 2016 might finally be the year we get it.

In a recent piece for Clash MusicVic revealed some production credits for the album, including Kanye's close colleague Mike Dean, Illangelo, Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio, and John Hill, who's producer for Eminem, Rihanna, Jay Z and more. Mike Dean is on the boards for at least one track called "Rage," which seems to implement elements of rock and is said to be a centerpiece on the LP.

The piece also includes some interesting little tidbits of info, like how Vic is spitting over a Weezer sample ("The Good Life") that Weezer member Rivers Cuomo heard and loved so much he decided to song in it himself.

In addition, Vic tells the story of meeting Jay Z the same day Hov got mauled by Solange in the infamous elevator incident. Vic played him a song called "City on Fire," and Jay immediately drew parallels to Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Quite the comparison for Vic, who calls himself a huge fan of the rock band.

No release date is known for Traffic, and the only music we've heard from Vic recently is "Danger" from February. The Chicago MC has been debuting new music live here and there, like "16 Shots," a song he premiered at the #JusticeForFlint event earlier this year. Check out some other unreleased songs Vic has played live in recent years below while you wait for Traffic.
