Though reports are floating around that Meek Mill is set to drop his Dreamchasers 4 mixtape on April 29 - the same day Drake's Views From the 6 will be released - XXL has confirmed with a rep from Atlantic Records that this is false.

A DatPiff page surfaced overnight (April 12) showing a cover for DC4 with a countdown indicating a release date of April 29. XXL reached out to a source at Atlantic who confirmed this is not an official date at all.

And it makes sense that he not drop it that day. The situation between Drake and Meek is still evolving, despite the two avoiding any direct shots as of late. Last week, Meek dropped a freestyle over "Summer Sixteen" (above) but didn't say a word about Drake - not even a subliminal.

That's a smart move for the MMG MC, who most of the public sided against while Drake had Apple Music at his back for "Charged Up" and "Back to Back." In fact, as soon as Aubrey dropped "Summer Sixteen," Meek was ready with "War Pain," a record that arguably got more love than anything Drake has dropped so far this year.

Therefore, the stage seems set for Meek to reclaim the market share Drake might have stolen out from under him. Meek Milly is still the underdog, the scrappy spitter from Philly who sold 215,000 copies of Dreams Worth More Than Money first week. Remember - you can't lose as the underdog, so all the pressure is on Drake while Meek sits at home and watches this album rollout. If he plays his cards right, we could see an upset in the making. Only time will tell.
