Iggy Azalea is preparing to drop a new album, Digital Distortion, her first since 2014's The New Classic, but all anybody can seem to ask her about is her engagement to Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young. A few weeks back, Young's teammate D'Angelo Russell filmed him in secret discussing encounters he's had with women other than Iggy. A huge scandal ensued for all parties involved, as trust was violated on multiple levels. Iggy spoke on the hubbub first to Ellen, saying things with Young were good.

But Iggy's brief and vague responses coupled with the fact that she was recently spotted without the 8.15 carat engagement ring Young gave her, have kept the rumor mill spinning. Iggy set the record straight on Twitter on Monday (April 18) saying that she and Young are fine, and that she'd prefer to spend her press interviews speaking about new music

"For the record, I haven't broken up with Nick," she wrote. "We are together and I would love a little (a lot) of privacy on the matter. I always answer questions honestly. But my job is to promote my music, not my relationship. I'd love to be interviewed about the former only."

Young and the Lakers just wrapped their regular season, what would have been a disastrous 17-65 were Kobe Bryant not retiring and dropping 60 points in his final game. With the new album on the way, a wedding to plan and a long season finally wrapped up, it's understandable that the couple would like to put the scandal to rest. Iggy saying she'd snip Young though for any future transgressions is the kind of headline making story that has been keeping it alive. Read her tweets on the matter below.
