The appeal of Desiigner's "Panda" is in the raw kinetic energy of the song, the ripping sound effects and drums that cause even Kanye West to flock towards the Brooklyn rapper. Imagine then, the complete and utter disappointment that goes along with the above video, a folk cover of "Panda" that effectively ruins what was otherwise one of the few bulletproof tracks of 2016.

Performed by Swedish folk/pop duo Smith & Thell, the folk cover uses an acoustic guitar and banjo to countrify "Panda" a deed that should most certainly not be done to a song that talks about pouring lean into Fanta and popping percs. There is however, a degree of irony to the two performers adding the line "Can someone explain cause these crackers dont get it" into the song. Or maybe, they realize full well what they're doing.

The comments on the YouTube video, which was uploaded earlier this week (April 12) are expectedly merciless, with some writing, "Y'ALL JUST LOVE TO RUIN EVERY DAMN THING OMG," "Why would you try to change this song into that style? it ruins everything" and "Y'all done fucked my favorite song the fuck up."

What's all the more surprising is that a quick scope of the duo's YouTube page reveals that they don't even do this sort of thing often. In fact, the "Panda" cover would appear to be the very first for the group which leads to the question of how an act with a song called "Hippie Van" would even arrive at Desiigner and "Panda" in the first place?
