Chief Keef and Young Chop Are Working Together Again

Amidst the many drama-filled talking points of the weekend, was a hip-hop reconciliation that paired one of Chicago's premiere rapper-producer tandems back together. In a photo posted to Instagram on Sunday (April 24), Young Chop confirmed that he and Chief Keef are back working with one another, with Sosa appearing on the producer's upcoming album.

The two burst on to the scene in 2012 with their anthemic hit "I Don't Like," but Chop became upset when his beat was altered by Kanye West for his own remix of the song. Chop said back in 2012 of the remix, “I just felt disrespected ’cause I didn’t even hear the song before it dropped, and I kept telling them that I wanna hear the song. I ain’t know the song was changed over like that... It sounded like a rock star beat, and that’s not how I do it. That’s not my sound."

While the source of the split between Keef and Chop isn't as identifiable, the two did seem to grow apart following the drama. Young Chop called out Kanye in October 2015 for manipulating and using young Chicago talent, and had said in July of 2014 that he thought Lil Reese could become a bigger star than Keef. "He bigger than Keef to me. Like he’s way bigger. He bigger than all of them. That’s just how I feel," he said.

Whatever tension that stardom had brought the two though seems to be old news, as they've linked up once more, no doubt to provide the rap world with further bangers. In a separate Instagram post, Chop says that he's back with some serious heat, announcing that his album King Chop is on the way
