With his new trial set to start in just over a week, Bobby Shmurda has decided to file a Federal lawsuit against the New York Police Department for false arrest in relation to a 2014 bust where the "Hot Nigga" rapper was hit with gun and drug charges.

Shmurda and his legal team filed the documents in Brooklyn Federal court on Friday (April 29). The arrest and eventual suit stem from a June 3, 2014 raid. According to Shmurda, born, Ackquille Pollard, he was hanging out at a friend's house when the authorities kicked in the door.

According to the suit, "When one of the occupants opened the door a slight bit to see who was there, Officer Douglas Corso and other police officers kicked in the door and illegally entered the residence without a search warrant."

During the search, cops claim they witnessed Pollard stuff a gun inside a couch cushion. He was arrested. However, the gun charges were eventually dropped. Still, the rapper claims he suffers from "nervous shock and mental anguish" because of the incident.

The BK rapper still faces weapons possession charges in separate cases in Manhattan and the Bronx.

Two of his fellow GS9 members have been convicted of murder, attempted murder and conspiracy. In a press release dated Friday, April 15, Bridget G. Brennan, New York City’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced that Rashid Derrisant, 24 and Alex Crandon, 22, were found guilty for the February 2013 murder of a 19-year-old rival gang member.

Shmurda has been locked up since December 2014 when he and his crew were arrested on a slew of serious charges. He has been denied bail seven times. The fight for his life finally starts May 11.
