Afrika Bambaataa Accused of Sexual Assault By Three More Men

Late last month, hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa was accused of sexual assault by Ronald Savage, who claimed that Bambaataa had molested him as a teenager. Bambaataa denied the claims, calling them baseless, while King Kamonzi, the International Spokesperson for the Universal Zulu Nation, told XXL that they were 100 percent untrue. Now though, the New York Daily News has identified and spoken to three different men who are echoing Savage's allegations.

Hassan Campbell spoke to the Daily News about his interactions with Bambaataa, calling him a "pervert" and adding that "he likes little boys." Campbell spent time at Bambaataa's Bronx apartment in the 1980's saying, "He had the most fun house in the world. There were celebrities there, musicians, neighborhood heroes. It was the best place to be - and the worst place to be." Bambaataa sexually assaulted him several times, he says, when he was 12 and 13 years old.

The men speaking with the Daily News are doing so now after reading Savage's account in the same publication. One New York man who has requested to remain anonymous said, "I know what Ronald Savage is saying is true because he did it to me. I have never spoken to anybody about this and when I did, I said 'Holy s---, they finally caught up to him.'"

A third man named Troy says, "I still have a lot of anger about this. I've been dealing with this for years. It's a shame this didn't come out earlier."
