Action Bronson Gets Removed From Another College Performance

Action Bronson finds himself under scrutiny by yet another college that’s booked him for a show.

Just a few weeks after being removed from George Washington University’s spring concert for the content of his lyrics, Trinity College students are reacting negatively to Bronson’s scheduled performance at their Spring Weekend show.

A Change.org petition has been launched to remove Bronson from the Spring Weekend lineup. The petition already has over 1,000 supporters with a goal of 1,500.

“We believe that Action Bronson headlining Spring Weekend is an endorsement of violence, specifically against women and minorities,” the petition reads. “This is why Trinity should follow the lead of Toronto’s North by Northeast (NXNE) Festival and George Washington University’s Spring Fling by disinviting Action Bronson. We fully recognize that we will not receive a refund and that we are contractually bound to pay Action Bronson. However, we think it would be better for Trinity students, and the institution’s reputation, for the concert to be cancelled regardless.”

Trinity College Barnyard Entertainment, the group responsible for booking Action Bronson, issued a statement about the controversy on Facebook.

“We want to thank the students, faculty, friends, and alumni of Trinity College for expressing various opinions about this year’s Spring Weekend artist, Action Bronson. We are attentive to all sentiments on campus and especially appreciate the conversation it has made. We are meeting both as a committee and the administration over the next few days to build the most proactive plan moving forward.”

The Trinity College Barnyard Entertainment group will also hold an “open discussion about this year’s Spring Weekend artists” on the campus this Thursday (April 21). Action Bronson has not commented on the situation at this time.
