WWE's Monday Night Raw was in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center last night (Mar. 28) and during a bit performed by tag-team champions New Day, group member Big E Langston evoked the memory of fallen A Tribe Called Quest member Phife Dawg.

While the bit itself is centered around New Day's fictional cereal Booty-O's and their ongoing beef with rival group League of Nations, at the 1:45 mark, Big E says, "And in the words of the late great Phife Dawg," before asking the crowd if he can kick it ala Tribe's song by the same name. Big E himself is from Tampa, but at 30 years old, his appreciation for Tribe and Phife certainly makes sense. The trio don't harp on their tribute for too long, as Big E then spits a rhyme about New York pizza and his group's superiority.

Wrestling has long had a relationship with the world of hip-hop, with news coming out on Monday that Snoop Dogg will be inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame before Wrestlemania 32 next month. Snoop will be the first hip-hop act to make it into the WWE hall, as he is recognized for his promotional efforts throughout the years.

Catch the clip of New Day's tribute up top, as the group is known to reference pop culture and does so in an affecting way here. Phife Dawg passed at the age of 45 on Tuesday March 22nd with many in hip-hop sharing their condolences and memories in wake of the news.
