Two weeks ago, the brass at Top Dawg Ent. revealed a list of possible releases from artists from the camp. At the top of that list was ScHoolboy Q. The rapper has been hard at work on his fourth LP, the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2014 album Oxymoron, and according to label head Punch, this project finds the rapper flexing his muscle lyrically more than ever before.

Billboard recently chopped it up with some of the key players in the TDE camp who provided some details on what to expect from the team in 2016. And they confirmed that SQ is up next and spitting that heat. “Right now, we’re wrapping up [ScHoolboy] Q’s project,” producer Sounwave revealed.

Punch explained that Q is taking his bars to the next level on this project. "What’s standing out to me right now, is [Q’s] attention to detail. The details in his bars is way up," said Punch. "To me, he’s way more lyrical on this album than he’s ever been. There’s a certain imagery that he’s bringing out in this one. I’m an album guy so I like all of those intricacies throughout the whole project.”

The still untitled album is expected to drop before the summer. Not much is known about the project as Q has yet to release as single. He has been in the studio with Swizz Beatz as recently as last month.
