Kendrick Lamar Kicks Off ‘untitled unmastered.’ Lyric Contest

As if enough attention wasn't already being paid to Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered., the boys over at TDE are furthering their rollout mastery by conducting a live contest through Facebook and Twitter today (March 9). The contest details are laid out in the above post, but essentially will require fans to study the project's lyrics with a Holmesian level of obsession.

"tomorrow at 4 pm pst we’ll be conducting an untitled unmastered. lyric contest," the post explains. "there will be 8 questions for each of the 8 songs on the the project in random order. 8 lucky winners. the first to reply with the correct answer to each question will win the untitled unmastered. merch package that includes a t-shirt, hat & backpack. so be sure to get your copy now and listen to the lyrics closely because these will not be easy!"

Noticeably absent from the untitled unmastered. merch pack is any physical rendering of the project, despite the promise of tangible goods later this week. There is a somewhat contradictory nature to the project, as its very nature suggests incompletion, and yet there's a degree of calculation associated with each step of the release process, from the initial drop to this TDE giveaway contest.
