Kendrick Lamar is a man of the people. The world knows that his powerful track "Alright" has become an anthem for protesting injustice in the world. He's also a bastion for what hip-hop at its best can be as seen in this video.

The Compton rapper recently left a lasting impression on some young artists in the UK by making a surprise appearance at their hip-hop workshop. The workshop was put together by Reebok Classic, Brighter Sounds and the Wonder Inn in Manchester for 40 young musicians. But none of those in attendance could have expected to see a bona fide superstar drop in and kick some rhymes with them. But that's exactly what Kendrick Lamar did.

The video shows Kendrick Lamar's surprise entrance into the venue as those in attendance are clearly excited by his arrival. Kendrick stepped into a freestyle cypher and was quickly handed the mic. Up to the challenge, the To Pimp a Butterfly rapper started dropping some rhymes off the dome. Artists from the workshop jumped back in as they got the rare opportunity to trade bars with Kendrick. The Grammy Award winner obviously had a lot of fun as he observed the passion of the artists participating in the workshop.

Kendrick Lamar is certainly riding high after his surprise project untitled unmastered. debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. If anyone needed a reminder of how big Kendrick has become, there is no better proof than the sales of his project of leftovers and demos.
