Kendrick Lamar drops a surprise new project via Aftermath/Interscope/Top Dawg Entertainment. The LP is called untitled unmastered. and fans can purchase plus stream it right now.

Untitled unmastered. is the follow-up to last year's critically acclaimed To Pimp a Butterfly. News of the eight-track project first emerged earlier today. The tracklist shows no features but instead every song is marked as untitled and numbered. Stream it via Apple Music or purchase it on iTunes here.

K. Dot previously performed untitled tracks on the final episode of The Colbert Report and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He also performed an unreleased verse at this year's Grammys ceremony.

In an interview with Andreas Hale, Kendrick spoke on the unreleased material he used in the live performance. “You see all these performances on these late night shows, I got a chamber of material from the project that I was in love where sample clearances or something as simple as a deadline kept it off the album,” he told Hale. “But I think probably close to ten songs that I’m in love with that I’ll still play and still perform that didn’t make the cut.”

Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony Tiffith said earlier this week that a new release from TDE would be coming this week. Many speculated that this would be an album from Schoolboy Q or Ab-Soul, but no one expected it to be a Kendrick Lamar project. NBA star LeBron James pleaded with Anthony Tiffith for Kendrick to release new music and the King got his wish.
