Jay Electronica has remained one of rap's biggest mysteries since bursting onto the scene with his breakout hit "Exhibit C." Since then, the New Orleans native has signed to Roc Nation, appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial, disappeared to Europe and dated a Rothschild all while popping up every now and again to drop a new song or perform at a high-profile show.

One show he will not be a part of is HypeTrak and New Era's SXSW showcase set to take place tomorrow (March 17) in Austin. Electronica was scheduled to perform alongside DOOMSTARKS, the MF Doom and Ghostface Killah side project, Freeway, DonMonique, Jazz Cartier and more. Replacing Jay on the bill is Lil B.

Electronica's antics have left fans confused and frustrated. Blessed with otherworldly talent on the microphone, the rapper has seemingly no interest in dropping his long-awaited album at any point. Despite the eccentric behavior and lack of music, the MC has not been shy about proclaiming his greatness. During a recent Periscope session, JE took shots at Kendrick Lamar. “Look, I like the one Kendrick song with Gunplay, ‘Cartoon & Cereal,’ but other than that we don’t know what nigga talking about,” Electronica said. “Kendrick is my son, Kendrick is my baby, Kendrick wishes he could be me.”

With the amount of success and acclaim K.Dot has received as of late, it may be the other way around.
