Drake is planning on taking over summer 2016, but first the OVO boss has to get through spring. Fresh off his surprise set at SXSW in Austin, Texas on Sunday (March 20), the 6 God hopped over to Houston to shut it down at Jas Prince’s son’s birthday block party.

Drizzy and his OVO entourage hit Mo Mo’s Chicken & Waffle rooftop to perform a medley of hits including "Big Rings” and his remixes of Fetty Wap’s “My Way” and Migos’ “Versace.” The bash was lit, according to Houston’s ABC 13. More than 5,000 people came out to the Fifth Ward for the event. Drake even posted a photo of himself and Jas Prince Jr. and the crew on his Instagram account.

Good times were had all around and the birthday boy was especially pleased. “If u missed out on my block party yesterday you missed out on a movie! @champagnepapi,” J. Prince Jr. captioned his video of the party, which he posted on IG.

The Prince family and Drizzy go way back. If you didn’t know, Jas Prince was the one who discovered Drake and introduced him to Lil Wayne. In 2015, the son of the Rap-A-Lot records CEO recalled how Drake caught his attention out of all the other artists on MySpace.

"I ran across all types of artists on there, like Soulja Boy, but Drake was the one that caught my eye," Prince said. "He was ranked number one or two on the unsigned trending artists list." He sent Drizzy a message and the rest was history. Even though he recently sued Cash Money for unpaid fees associated with bringing them Drake, Jas and Drizzy as still tight.

Looks like Drake is completely unbothered by Toronto rapper Mo-G's claims that he stole his swag and owes him bread.
