Drake has certainly put on for his city in the years since his ascension within rap and music at large, receiving the key to Toronto last month before NBA All-Star Weekend, which Drake had a hand in bringing north of the border, kicked off. Drizzy's role as an ambassador not only for the Toronto Raptors but for the city as a whole earned him the honor and has elevated his celebrity beyond conventional means.

Take the above video for example, which show Canadian Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly along with members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and students from the Regent Park School of Music performing a classical rendition of Drake's “Know Yourself” off his February 2015 release If You're Reading This it's Too Late. While the performance is instrumentation only, the assembled crew do a spot-on job with the tune, so much so that pre-chorus beat switch puts the song's tagline — "I was runnin' through the 6 with my woes!" — firmly in any viewer's head. Joly's contributions come by way of a pair of maracas, but she is clearly impressed with the performance, taking stock of the musicians around her.

As spring creeps ever more into frame, all questions surrounding Drake point to his upcoming album Views From the 6, which is scheduled for an April release date. Not much is known about the Drizzy record other than small signs and clues hinting that it's close to completion. With videos like the one above though keeping Drake's headline-making name afloat or his recent participation in a Raptors-Bulls game, the Toronto rapper need not worry about any pre-album promo.
