Young Thug is not one to give many interviews, so it was a pretty big get for Ebro Darden when the rapper appeared on his Beats 1 Radio show on Apple Music.

The rapper is on a press run in New York City with his 300 Entertainment boss Lyor Cohen and stopped by Ebro's show for an interview. During their conversation, the topic of Lil Wayne was brought up.

Despite their contentious relationship over the past year, it appears that Thugger still thinks of Lil Wayne in high regard. Here's what Thug had to say about Wayne.

"I always paid attention to Lil Wayne, close attention," Young Thug said. "He's my idol, he's still my idol. I still know all his music, everything that he's putting out now, I still know everything, I pay attention to him. When he came in as a Hot Boy, he was a street nigga...But as he grew, tight clothes, and rock star. So I guess I went the same path, because I always paid attention to him. But I never paid attention to live or be like him...He's iconic, I always paid attention to him like that. I never paid attention to him, like, I'd die if I don't be like him."

Young Thug also spoke on how he first met Gucci Mane, evaluates some of his past work and talks about working with Jamie xx. Check out the full interview below.
