Former Cash Money artist Turk is dealing with some major financial issues and is asking the public for assistance. The NOLA rapper recently admitted to being $5 million in debt and has started a GoFundMe page in order to try to stave off his creditors.

The former Hot Boy recently explained his situation on Instagram. "Today I come to you for help because I am in a 5 million dollar debt and it's getting hard trying to pay it off on top of everything else," he wrote.

He added, "There is no secret stash. This isn't a conspiracy theory. This is what happens when a man faces his actions, does his time and returns home to live free. The debt to society has been paid. The restitution has been paid. Now you want to go for broke and take from a man what he doesn't have."

Turk served eight years in prison between 2004 and 2012, after he was found guilty of Federal firearms charges following a shootout with police in Memphis, Tenn.

In 2015, he sued Cash Money Records for $1.3 million and later settled out of court with the storied Southern rap label.

Turk isn't the only rapper to recently admit to financial issues and seek help on a public forum. Just a couple weeks ago, Kanye West told Twitter that he is $53 million in personal debt. He later pleaded with Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg to invest in his ideas.
