While the summer time typically brings star-studded mega festival concert events, hip-hop legend Rakim has announced a different kind of show scheduled later for the year, one in which he will perform his 1987 classic Paid in Full from start to finish. The concert event will take place on July 13 at New York City's B.B. King's Blues Club & Grill, where Rakim will be accompanied by his DJ and Paid in Full collaborator Eric B.

Tickets for the Paid in Full concert go on sale today (Fri, Feb. 19) at 12 p.m. EST. For those incapable of waiting til July, Rakim will be taking the Brooklyn Bowl stage on Feb. 27 alongside the Soul Rebels and DJ Enuff. The July show will be taking place just one week after the 19 year anniversary of Paid in Full's initial release.

The anniversary show is reminiscent of a recent Nas tour in which the New York rapper performed all of Illmatic in celebration of his debut album's 20th anniversary. While the Rakim show appears to be a stand-alone performance, it is nonetheless welcomed by New York hip-hop fans and Rakim stans alike. Visit Ticketmaster for further ticket info where general admission tickets will be sold for $30 a pop.

Around last spring, it was reported that Rakim was working on a new album, saying, "I’m working on something now, man. I’m trying to get a few of the right producers in pocket and get the chemistry of the album together." Not long after, Rakim performed alongside Busta Ryhmes at New York's SOB's.
