Pusha T Donates 2,000 Cases of Water to Flint Residents

As the clean water crisis continues to plague the city of Flint, Mich.--and as the issue begins to creep into the Presidential primary campaigns--many are pitching in to do their part. From local residents volunteering their time and energy to those around the country sending money or fresh supplies, it's become a truly national effort to make sure those in Flint are able to drink, eat, cook and shower. Now, Pusha T has joined that cause, reportedly sending 2,000 cases of bottled water into the city.

According to M Live, a Michigan news outlet, the water arrived last week on a pair of semi trailers. And, per officials who spoke with M Live, the Virginia rapper wasn't trying to take any credit. "He's very humble," said Lakeesha Atkinson of the local organization Partners in the Community, who helped jumpstart relief efforts in the first place. "He doesn't do anything for recognition or for the spotlight."

Pusha was joined in his relief efforts by Dr. Melvin O. Marriner of Grove Baptist Church and Bishop Kim W. Brown of The Mount Church, both fellow Virginia residents.

And instead of dropping all the water in a central location, the donors and Atkinson worked to make sure it would be taken directly to where it's needed most. "We didn't want to do a drop off location," she said. "We wanted to come out and give it to places in the community that may have had trouble with transportation that a lot of donations, per media, were not hitting."

Pusha T's second retail solo album, King Push, is expected to drop this April.
