Killer Mike has been all over the place lately, and Run the Jewels 3 is still only in the teasing stage. After throwing the full weight of his support behind Bernie Sanders, Mike's media presence has risen, most recently sitting down with Bill Maher to smoke a joint and discuss politics. But the press gigs aren't the only avenue in which Mike is raising his visibility, as the rapper stars in a new commercial for Apple Music and Sonos.

In the ad, Mike and other musicians are at home with their families, with Anderson Paak's "Come Down" playing in the background. Throughout the ad, Mike speaks to the value of playing music in the house, saying, "I don’t like silence in the home," and later, "Music make mundane stuff better. And it’s never too late to discover new things." He closes out the commercial saying, "Silence is probably the enemy of a happy home."

In a separate spot (below) Mike says, "My kids are always putting me onto stuff. I appreciate them for it. It makes me a cooler guy. It’s never too late to discover new things."

The new ad further marks RTJ's foray into the commercial space, as a recent Jordan commercial uses the groups "Blockbuster Night Part 1" in an ad promoting Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook. While the Sonos clip only features Mike for a bit, it suggests that major brands are willing to look past the "Killer" in his stage name and understand the humanitarian and social causes he frequently and articulately speaks to. Sonos conducted a study with 30,000 people in eight markets with 30 real homes decked out with sensors and the oversight of neuroscientist Dr. Daniel J. Levitin Ph.D (author of "This is Your Brain on Music")  about the effects of music in the home. The study revealed some interesting things: more sex and more shared moments. Check out the full study here and peep the footage from the survey below

As for the Anderson Paak tune used above, it can be found on his recently released album Malibu, which is available to stream via Spotify.
