Dre Prince Drops ‘Golden Child’

Dre Prince, an MC from Austin, Texas, drops his new project, Golden Child on iTunes and Google Play. The album features Blue, The Misfit, Xes, Cody Brandell, Slim Gravy and more. The highly anticipated project also features production from T-Black The Hitmaker, Issac Arquieta, Xes and more. Dre has previously released "All Around the World." Dre spoke to XXL about the album.

"Being independent in Texas is very tough because of how big the market is & for the fact there isn't any major publications out here that can help new artist breakthrough Texas and other markets," he said. "Another reason Golden Child is special and different from any other body of work is because I recorded it in my hometown of Austin, Texas; usually Ifly to Atlanta to record there. It is the most organic piece of work I've ever created everything was natural, nothing was forced. We experimented with sounds and came up with something that may be unfamiliar. I think it fills a necessary void in the world of underground music. Golden Child is the perfect blend between mainstream rap, conscious rap and trap rap. It's the bridge that can connect the many worlds of rap today. I am not the only Golden Child, my message to my generation and the new one to come is we can be whatever we want, do whatever we want & change the world. All we have to do is believe it.
