Drake Discovers New Flows on ‘Views From the 6′ According to Noah “40” Shebib

Drake has been in the lab finishing up Views From The 6 for a potential April release, and today Jon Caramanica published a piece for New York Times talking about the making of the album.

In the piece, Caramanica spoke to Drake's main producer Noah "40" Shebib, who says, "I just make 50 ideas in one day. As soon as one of those ideas gets his attention, we start heading that way.

"After ‘Nothing Was the Same,’ Drake was like, ‘I want to do a rap project,’” 40 tells Caramanica. “He wanted to do what all the other rappers get to do,” but that plan is “a thing we can’t do that much on a Drake album. We have other fans we need to satisfy.”

Later on, 40 elaborates on what to expect from Views: “It’s going to be what everybody expects and wants from Drake and from us,” says 40. “A lot of introspection, very vivid. He’s discovering new flows, new cadences, new patterns.” In terms of the music, “I’m trying to find ways to pull more untraditional sounds in, to push the boundaries a little further. Something about it should be special.”

Today Kanye West tweeted that we can expect new music from him, Drake and Future soon. Whether that means a G.O.O.D. Friday release or additional tracks on The Life of Pablo is unknown right now, but it's coming. He also revealed that Drake helped him on "30 Hours" and "Father Stretch My Hands." "I wanna thank my brother Drizzy for helping me on 30 Hours & Father Stretch My Hands," tweeted Kanye. "Drake would come by and just help, no strings. Future also came by to write. We all got new shit together that's gonna drop soon."
