50 Cent's finances have become a very public matter ever since the G-Unit rapper filed for bankruptcy last summer. In a new report from Bossip, 50 Cent's financial status is examined in closer detail.

The report finds that the Queens rapper is making around $29,000 every month off music royalties alone. In a court document that made its way online, a page from 50 Cent's bankruptcy filing is shown titled "individual debtor cash receipts and cash reimbursements. This shows that 50 Cent made $28,963.23 in royalties for one month alone. By that scale, 50 Cent is racking in around $350,000 a year off royalties.

Obviously, that is a lot of money. But a main point of the Bossipe piece was to look at how much 50 Cent actually made versus the perception of what he's bringing in these days. One example used was Forbes estimating that 50 Cent was worth $155 million as opposed to documents obtained by TMZ stating that the rapper's total assets are worth $16 million. $16 million is still an incredible amount of money, but it is a drastic drop from the estimation that Forbes made just a few months before 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy.

There had been some discussion of 50 Cent selling away all of his royalty rights, but these are not entirely true. According to the Wall Street Journal, 50 Cent sold half of his on-air radio play royalty rights to the Kobald Music Group for $3 million years ago and sold the other half last year for $3 million. But in fact, 50 Cent is able to collect a percentage of his royalties after Kobald recoup their $3 million. 50 Cent also owns the rights to sell his albums as he just needs to pay for the distribution.
