There is little doubting that Young Thug's musical output is anything short of prolific. Just last month, Thugger's frequent collaborator Be El Be said on Twitter that the rapper has 10 unreleased projects lying dormant. While some, like the Migos collaboration MigoThuggin are on indefinite ice for various reasons, it would appear that at least one of the Thug joints is about to enter the public sphere. Young Thug posted to Twitter on Monday (Jan. 25) that his Slime Season 3 mixtape will be released on Feb. 5.

Thug's ascension toward the summit of hip-hop stardom looks to keep going in 2016 by continuing his stellar run of mixtape drops and feature spots. Just yesterday, it was reported that the eccentric rapper might appear on Kanye West's highly anticipated new album Swish. On top of that, Thugger is supposed to have mixtapes out there with Fetty Wap and Post Malone, among other artists.

While Slime Season 3 was originally supposed to drop on New Year's Day, that kind of turnaround would have been unprecedented. Slime Season 2 dropped on Nov. 1, while the first in the series became available in mid-September. If Young Thug keeps the Feb. 5 drop date, that still accounts for three mixtapes in less than five months.

In terms of recently released new music, Young Thug has dropped "Make A Lot" with Metro Boomin' and "Serious" within the past week. Toward the tail end of last year, Thug and Metro had put on an act of sorts, pretending to have a falling out before dropping their single "Hercules." With Thug's output so over the top, it's impossible to calibrate any sort of expectation for Slime Season 3 other more of the wild catchy tunes that he's been churning out with incomparable consistency.
