Meek Mill recently visited Overbrook High School in his hometown Philadelphia to speak with the students. During his stop, he revealed he has decided to further his education and recently enrolled in school.

“I just enrolled in college myself,” said Meek. “I took it upon myself to do that because I want to be the best at what I do. I want to be the best at what I do so I enrolled in college to educate myself, get myself more knowledge because knowledge make money, being educated makes you money and I like making money and taking care of my family.”

Later in his speech he urged the students to focus on self-empowerment. “DC4, Nicki Minaj, Drake ain’t gon’ benefit ya’ll,” he said. “When I was your age, I never had a chance to talk to Jay Z, I never had a chance to talk to Beanie Sigel to ask them how can I get there.”

Despite recently squaring up with 50 Cent on wax and on social media last weekend, Meek has also done some positive things in the last seven days. On Monday (Jan. 18), he promised to give $50,000 to the Flint Water crisis, following up on his pledge a few days later by sending 60,000 bottles of water to the city which has been struggling lead poisoned water for months.

Now, he's getting his higher learning on. Nothing wrong with that.

There's no word on what school he has enrolled in, but the Dreamchasers rapper's time taking college courses could be short lived. On Feb. 5 he will appear in court to be sentence on a probation violation.
