Kendrick Lamar Makes a Cameo in “Alright” Promo for ‘Black-ish’

While it hasn't made a huge impact on the Billboard charts, Kendrick Lamar's single "Alright" is making a mark in every other way. Up for four Grammy awards, including Song of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video, the critical response has only been trumped by its cultural impact as the track has also become the soundtrack for the Black Lives Matter movement. Now the single is seeping into pop culture as it is being used for a new promo for the hit show Black-ish.

Lamar even appears in the new commercial for the ABC sitcom. In the clip, the kids played by Marcus Scribne, Yara Shahidi, Miles Brown and Marsai Martin scheme up a master plot on making a music video. In the next scene the whole family is rocking out to "Alright" while the TDE rapper sits among them eating a large bowl of cereal.

Black-ish, is a comedy sitcom created by Kenya Barris. Currently in its second season, the show stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross as Dre and Bow Johnson as upper-middle-class African-American family. Laurence Fishburne, Raven Symone and Wanda Sykes have reoccurring roles on the show, while Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Mary J. Blige and Amber Rose have made cameos. Black-ish airs at 9:30 pm on Wednesday nights.
