GoldLink Hops on Remix to Kelela’s ‘Rewind’

XXL Freshman alum GoldLink is capitalizing on the momentum he set in 2015 by hitting the guest appearance circuit and linking up with Kelela for a remix of her track, "Rewind."

Produced by Louie Lastic, this remix is an uptempo number that is perfect for the dance floor and sees GoldLink and Kelela concocting an undeniable tune that is has "potential hit" written all over it. Kelela opens the track, purring, "Since that say you're all I think about / Thought you were impossible to know / You're with me wherever I wake up," before bursting into the hook.

Lyrics like, "I'll take my chances I know that I'm falling, I'm best when I'm next to you," are clever and catchy enough to wrangle the ear of the staunchest critic into submission. And then there's GoldLink, who nearly steals the show with a Go-Go Gadget flow and and a crisp delivery.

"You got me singing, thinking bout the youth /You and me and maybe two kids / Had that phatty back in high school / Fine too and every white boy want a piece of you," he raps, instantly grabbing the listeners attention and oozing the charisma that's compelled tastemakers to peg him as on of the more promising upstarts in recent memory. Closing on the verse with a few witty lines, like "Ya lil sister say you look crazy / Lil crazy my lil name / Fuck gold, going platinum on 'em / Look, Lela, I ain't even have to spazz on 'em / Get 'em," GoldLink proves to be quite the effective costar and comes through with a stellar performance yet again.
