The murder of Future's former bodyguard Michael Tanner Phillips has the police looking for the rapper for questioning that may lead to the capture of Phillips' killer. TMZ is reporting that cops in Georgia want to speak to the Purple Reign rapper and the rest of the deceased's friends and associates to see if they can help the authorities find the gunman. The police do not have any suspects in custody as of press time but have several leads.

Phillips was gunned down in his Jonesboro, Ga. home yesterday (Jan. 25) afternoon. "Some of the neighbors heard some arguing and some gunshots. We're still interviewing some of them to ry and piece together everything at this time," Lieutenant Frank Thomas of the Clayton County Police Department told Fox 5 Atlanta.

The gunman fled the scene in a vehicle and is still at-large. Phillips was 27-years-old. He and his wife were reportedly expecting a new child and recently threw a baby shower. According to reports from the scene, Phillips' wife was home during the shooting.

Future's rep told XXL that the bodyguard parted ways with the rapper in 2011. The MC paid his respects to Phillips on Twitter.

Future was spotted on Sunday (Jan. 24) at the NFC Championship game between the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals. The rapper flicked it up with Super Bowl-bound quarterback Cam Newton and fellow MC, Jeezy, prior to the game. The picture went viral and social media had already dubbed the Panthers victors before the opening kickoff. The prediction turned out to be correct as Carolina beat Arizona 49-15 to punch its ticket to Super Bowl 50.
