DJ Khaled has blown up via SnapChat over the past few months and now the long-time music executive/producer is being given a chance to serve as a motivation and inspiration for kids everywhere. Yesterday (Jan. 20), Khaled was named principal for the day and given the keys to Carol City (Florida) Middle School. The Miami native and longtime television and radio personality Sway went to the school to help the kids celebrate their recognition as the Fall attendance Challenge National Champs. "You are all winners," Khaled told the children.. "The key is to win more."

Towards the end of the day, the "We Takin' Ova" producer announced that he would donate lunch from his Miami Finga Lickin restaurant to every one in attendance and also said he would provide $10,000 to help the school pay for instruments.

Upon hearing the announcement, band teacher Antrell Dirden jumped on stage and screamed in excitement. Dirden told the Miami Herald that he is in charge of restarting the school's band program after a nine-year hiatus and the $10,000 will go towards drums, guitars, keyboards and sound and lighting equipment. "It's a whole lot of money," said the teacher. "This is really like a blessing."

To end the day, Khaled was fittingly given a key to the City of Miami Gardens and Jan. 20 was officially named "DJ Khaled Day" in the city. The entire day was captured on social media. Check out the highlights below:
