It was revealed in late November that Louisiana rapper Boosie BadAzz was diagnosed with kidney cancer. Boosie then underwent surgery to remove half of his kidney in mid-December, and in a sit down interview with Revolt, shares the events of that initial diagnosis.

"Man I got an MRI, that motherfucker came back like, 'We found something on your kidney'" an emotional Boosie says, seated in a chair, sunglasses on. "'You know you got cancer' and that's when they told me. That was the first time I found that out."

Boosie has channeled the ordeal into his music and touches in his brow in the above video, clearly shaken by the reality he's had to face in recent months. "It’s part of me with my music," he said, raising his hands upward. "That’s what probably will never get me to fall off cause I keep going through stuff and I keep talking about it. Even if the world just keep spinning, I always got something to talk about because the world so crazy."

In closing, Boosie talks about his decision to share the diagnosis with fans, saying, "Straight up I gotta let the world know. People say prayer is power. I know I got a million fans, I’ll get a million prayers."

The video ends with a "Coming Soon" teaser so it's likely that the one minute long video is simply a trailer for an extended interview. Earlier this week, Boosie revealed that he is planning on producing a biopic of his life, having connected with Jamal Woolard who starred as The Notorious B.I.G. in Notorious and will reprise the role in All Eyez on Me, the biopic about Tupac Shakur's life and death.

We will continue to update news on Boosie's health and wish the rapper a healthy new year.
