With his sophomore solo album Darkest Before Dawn just a few days away, Pusha T paid a visit to 'The Daily Show with Trevor Noah' to unveil a new track with a political message. "These aint new problems, they just old ways/I seen one time turn sunshine into Freddie Gray," Push rapped for the track which is titled "Sunshine" and features Jill Scott. Based on the tracklist that dropped last week, "Sunshine" will be the closing track on Darkest Before Dawn.

There is a strong political charge to both of Pusha's verses, as he addresses the police brutality that has claimed too many black American lives this past year. "Funeral flowers every 28 hours being laid over ours/Sworn to protect and serve but who really got the power?," he raps with purpose and vigor.

The most poignant moment though is a stretch where Push takes aim at the media's portrayal of inner city communities versus the reality. "We the dark side, so they tell you lies/Through a TV, CNBC/CNN, Don Lemon, no Kweli when you meet me/In order to be me, you gotta see what Chief Keef see/Brenda’s baby next door to the candy lady/same project as candyman where they still moving hand in hand/Sunday to Sunday, pastor only want one day/Grandma praying someday, but god can’t hear it over gunplay."

Pusha closed his performance by raising a Black Lives Matter fist in the air. Darkest Before Dawn drops this Friday, Dec. 18.
