Watch Chance the Rapper Perform “Somewhere in Paradise” and “Sunday Candy” on ‘SNL’

Chance the Rapper made history last night (Dec. 12). The Chicago rapper became the first independent artist to perform on the long-running NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live and hopefully not the last. Earlier in the week CTR appeared alongside host Chris Hemsworth and cast member Bobby Moynihan in some comedic promo videos for the episode with the trio joking about making a “hot guy sandwich,” being best friends and Chris Hemsworth’s secretly dope rhymes. Chance didn't look too amused. But last night was a different story.

Chance hit the stage twice. Once, to perform his grandmother ode "Sunday Candy" off Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment's Surf LP, and again to show off his latest song "Somewhere In Paradise" along with Jeremih (the song also features R. Kelly who was not present).

What might be even more important to the fans than the show is something the Windy City MC noted while on stage. During his performance he also hinted at his third mixtape possibly coming on Christmas stating: “Then the third tape slide down the chimney.”

Back in October, he performed a new song while doing show at Austin City Limits. He quickly closed the track by yelling "third mixtape." While fans got Surf earlier this year - which is not technically a Chance album - they have been waiting patiently for the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2013 sophomore mixtape release Acid Rap. Could we be a couple weeks away?
